Established in 2025, the Helotes 4-H Shotgun Club is a family-centered, introductory shooting sports program where youth build a strong foundation in firearm safety, responsibility, sportsmanship, and shotgun skills. We offer opportunities to compete at the county, district, and state levels while developing confidence, leadership, and teamwork. Shotgun sports are parent-intensive, and active family involvement is expected. Club practices provide the foundation, and athletes who are excited to grow their competitive skills are encouraged to build on that foundation through additional practice and training opportunities outside of the club.
JOIN
STEP 1
Complete the Helotes 4H Shotgun Club registration and building Waiver.
📅 Registration Opens: August 8, 2026, at the Helotes 4-H Open House Event.
⏰ Registration Deadline for the Helotes Shotgun Club: October 31, 2026.

Pay the registration fee (separate from 4H Online fee).
STEP 2
Register with Bexar County 4-H through the new TX4H system
📅 Registration Opens: August 17, 2026. Site will not be available before then.

Create a family profile. Add all youth members who will enroll. All shooters MUST have at least 1 parent sign up as a volunteer on the enrollment.

Must complete safety training
📅 Attend mandatory safety orientation September 17th, 2026.
